JULES RAGOT (1835-1912) Odalisque Oil on panel, signed upper right Size: 18 x 10 cm - A painter of still lifes as well as genre scenes and portraits, Ragot was a pupil of Murat and Picot and made his debut at the Paris Salon in 1867. He moved to Brussels in Belgium and took part in the Triennial Exhibition in Ghent in 1877 and the General Exhibition of Fine Arts in Brussels in 1880. Jules Ragot worked in a traditional realist style.
