Pierre Tual works with sheets of metal and Cor-ten steel with a facetiousness that removes all rigidity from the material. He bends, folds and unfolds these steel plates in space like supple, airy sheets. His complex compositions of assembled metal, in their monumental versions (Paris, Évry, Nantes, Rennes), are translated into bronze using an inverse process: he creates, cuts and folds thick sheets of wax, which he assembles, bends and reworks before casting. The result is a single print of abstract, architectural constructions. His work has been exhibited at the Centre Georges Pompidou, the Galerie de France and the Domaine de Kerguéhennec in Brittany.
