Maria PERGAY (1930-2023) Wave pouffe, model created in 1969 Folded stainless steel stool Stains and small scratches on the seat, oxidation on the base and underside 40 x 121 x 40 cm Provenance: collection of the American architect and decorator Constantin Vichey (1933-2026), then by descent Bibliography: Suzanne Demisch, Stéphane Danant, op. cit, a similar model reproduced in duplicate on pages 111 and 112 under reference 21. This piece of furniture was acquired in New York in the early 1970s from Harvey Probber, Maria Pergay's distributor in the United States, for the decor that Constantin Vichey created for the flat of his father Luben Vichey and his mother-in-law Anna Vichey, on Fifth Avenue. When the couple died, Constantin Vichey brought the pouffe back to France, first to furnish a family home in the Gard region of France, then to his personal home in Bordeaux, where it remained until his death.
