Description
CHINA, 19th century
Elegant face-to-face mirror, the handle consisting of an 18th century white jade fibula, the back of the mirror embellished with an openwork white jade plate decorated with butterfly and flowers. The whole in a presumed low-title silver frame, with chased and repoussé decoration of Buddhist emblems highlighted with polychrome enamels and rose quartz and jadeite cabochons, a butterfly at the junction of the two parts and a frieze decoration of bamboo and prunus flowers surrounding the handle.
