India circa 17th-18th century

According to Dr Pal, Mahaganapati is the cosmic manifestation of Ganesha whose mantra
mantra would be particularly effective in rites of subjugation, illusion
attraction, eradication, liquidation and immobilisation.
It is also said to bring success in the preparation of elixirs and unguents and to
supernatural powers and control over yakshinis. He is depicted
with five pairs of arms holding his various attributes, seated in a relaxed pose
with his wife on his left knee.
