Southern India circa 17th-18th century
Copper alloy. Height 13.5 cm
Most of the time considered to be an avatar
of Vishnu, Vithoba is superbly represented here standing
with his right hand in varada mudra and his left hand
holding a conch shell. He is mainly worshipped
in southern India, particularly in Karnataka and Maharshar Pradesh.
