Rectangular in shape, the top of the lid decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e and takamaki-e, with mother-of-pearl and pewter inlays, depicting three deer against a background of shrubs, the interior decorated with scrolls, signed Ogata Korin on the inside of the lid; minor restorations and small chips
