Pair of porcelain candle-holders
Taking the form of strangers seated on quadrangular thrones, dressed in important armours, and supporting bowls forming the supports of candles, the whole painted in famille rose enamels.

(Misses and accidents)
Provenance: Collection of the current owners' maternal grandmother, Mrs Leewitz, who lived in New York in the early 20th century. She travelled to Asia for about a year around 1930, during which time she acquired various objets d'art directly from Asia. Passed down through the generations.
