Porcelain chocolate pot
Decorated with polychrome enamels inspired by the famille rose Compagnie des Indes models of phoenixes among branches of peonies. Mark under the base.
Height: 19.5 cm
(Handle and mixer missing, star-shaped crack under the base and on the spout)
Provenance: Collection of the current owners' maternal grandmother, Mrs Leewitz, who lived in New York in the early 20th century. She travelled to Asia for about a year around 1930, during which time she acquired various objets d'art directly from Asia. Passed down through the generations.
