Description
CHINA, Qing Dynasty Set of two chalcedony subjects One taking the form of a branch with two peaches, and the other of a dormouse in vine branches, the stone of a pretty translucent bluish and purplish colour. Height: 5 and 5.5 cm (Small chips on one) Provenance: Collection of the current owners' maternal grandmother, Mrs Leewitz, who lived in New York in the early 20th century. Around 1930, she travelled to Asia for about a year, during which time she acquired various objets d'art directly from Asia. Passed down through the generations.
