Provenance: French family collection. Supposedly brought back from Asia in the middle of the 20th century by a close family friend known as Marcel. The presence of a book dedicated by Michel Beurdeley to Marcel (1962) testifies to his interest in Far Eastern art. The collection has been passed down to the current owners.
