CAMBODIA, Pre-Khmer period, 12th-13th centuries Carved stone head Representing the divinity Vishnu, the face has calm, regular features, including finely incised almond-shaped eyes topped by a thin arch of the eyebrows, a straight nose, full lips with a slight smile, and a neck with numerous folds. The head is encircled by a high cylindrical mukuta, emblematic of representations of Vishnu. The elongated ears are adorned with outstretched lobes. On a presentation base.
