Porcelain incense burner imitating bronze
Quadrangular in shape, resting on four arched feet, modelled on archaic ‘fang ding’-type vases, featuring, throughout, an extensive turquoise and gold enamelled decoration of stylised deer masks in the taotie style on the lower part of the body, animal friezes on the upper section, with the background covered in leiwen patterns. A spurious Qianlong mark beneath the base. With a matching wooden lid, the handle of which is formed from a carved jade element; the whole rests on a matching wooden plinth.
