A pair of lidded porcelain vases
Of the so-called ‘lantern’ shape, mounted on short circular feet; the cylindrical bodies have rounded shoulders and bases, surmounted by small, short necks with domed lids; the entire piece is decorated with polychrome enamel depicting children playing outdoors on the bodies, whilst the rims and lids are decorated with lotus scrolls on a ruby-red ground. Marked ‘慎德堂製’ (Shèn dé táng zhì) beneath the bases. With matching wooden plinths.
