Description
Set of 5 private photographs of Mermoz, Couzinet and Carretier with the rainbow. From the archives of flight engineer Clément Noger, then serving with the 37th Aviation Regiment in Morocco, these five private photographs, measuring 30 x 40 mm, are original prints, are annotated on the reverse and show Jean Mermoz, with his co-pilot Pierre Carretier and the design engineer René Couzinet, alongside their three-engined Couzinet 70 ‘Arc en Ciel’ in Casablanca, upon their return from South America in 1932. Recovered at the last minute before the sale, they are accompanied by a period photograph of the men posing in front of the ‘Arc en Ciel’ in Casablanca. Condition II
