Description
Orthodox pewter devotional object (reliquary - sacrament container?). Richly decorated with openwork baroque friezes and numerous saintly figures and angels. It comprises two removable parts: - The lower cubic part surrounded by four figures opens through a door revealing three holy figures and reveals two compartments in the upper part. - The upper part features four angels around a coffin with an opening lid, between four fluted columns topped by four angels supporting a small vessel, the removable top cross serving as a spatula for applying holy oil. In the centre hangs a small lamp, complete with hanging bracket. 19th century work. Height Height : 48 cm
