This work is an autograph replica with variations of the painting exhibited by Maurice Busset at the Salon des Tuileries in 1920 and in Clermont-Ferrand in 1922. About ten sketches are known for this painting. Some were done at Chambon-sur-Lac in August-September 1913 and are recorded in the painter's notebook for 1913.
