Description
Takahashi Hiroaki (Shōtei) (Japan, 1871-1945) and Ito Sōzan (1884-?) Print, oban tate-e, Toyoshima no watari (豊しまの渡), Ferry crossing at Toyoshima. Shotei and Sozan stamps. Before 1923 (tears, restorations). Size 37.5 x 25.2 cm. Itō Sōzan collaborated with Takahashi Hiroaki (Shotei) under the direction of Watanabe Shōzaburō in the early XXᵉ century. Although each specialised, Sōzan in kacho-ga (birds and flowers) and Shotei in landscapes, they produced some rare works together. Their collaboration, exceptional for the time, gave rise to three prints before the earthquake of 1923. After 1926, no trace of Sōzan's activity is known, leaving the end of his life and career a mystery.
