Description
Austrian officer's short sabre. Handle covered in stingray with double filigree. Nickel-plated mounting. One-prong openwork hilt decorated with the imperial numeral under a crown and a double-headed eagle. Short blade with hollow sides, flat back and counter-edge. Bronzed iron scabbard. Presented with an officer's lanyard in gilt trimmings, dark blue fillets and tassels embroidered with the double-headed eagle and the Emperor Franz Joseph's cypher (wear). Length: 64.5 cm A.B.E. circa 1860.
