Round barrel with thunderbolt flats, with rise graduated at 18, marked "S 1878". Breechcase marked "MANUFACTURE D'ARMES ST ETIENNE Mle 1874 M 80". Iron fittings, with grenadière and bronzed mouthpiece. Regimented buttplate "52T". Walnut stock with "JUNE 1878" date stamp.
