Gras model 1874 M80 infantry rifle, calibre 11 mm
Round barrel with thunderbolt flats, with rise graduated at 18, marked "S 1881". Breechcase marked "MANUFACTURE D'ARMES ST ETIENNE Mle 1874 M 80".
Iron fittings, with grenadière and bronzed mouthpiece. Bedplate with traces of regimental markings "22" Walnut stock with "MAI 1881" date stamp.
Iron ramrod.
Barrel, bolt and wood with same regimental number (different regimental number on ramrod, unmarked tenon).
Scratches present, pitted. Bronze finish.
Total length: 130.5 cm
Good condition (chips and pitting to butt plate).
With Gras model 1874 bayonet.
Handle with wooden plates. Punched iron crosspiece. Blade engraved "Mre d'Armes St Etienne Avril 1878". Scabbard in bronzed iron plate with different serial number from the guard.
