Description
Cuirass of a cuirassier officer of the Royal Guard.
Made of sheet iron with brass rivets. Breastplate design (reassembled) with the great arms of France and Navarre (slightly missing). Shoulder straps with eight rings, unlined, fleur-de-lys clasps, embroidered red morocco ties. Later lion's head shoulder straps. Embroidered red morocco belt (heavily worn).
A.B.E. (belt, shoulder straps and radiant motif remounted). Restoration period.
