"Standing nude", model circa 1959-1960.
Sculpture in white stone, direct cut on a circular base (small stains).
Signed and numbered XX on the base.
Height 108 cm - Depth 26 cm

Provenance: Direct descendants of the artist.
Pierre Traverse was one of the few sculptors of his time to work in direct carving.
He was also a pupil of Jean-Antoine Injalbert, Émile Antoine Bourdelle and Joseph Bernard.
The sculptor exhibited at numerous Salons and won several prestigious prizes.
His works can be seen in the gardens of the Palais de Chaillot, the Centre Georges Pompidou, the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and a number of other museums.
