Between the wars, Alfred Jarry's work returned to favour. In 1925, for example, Ambroise Vollard asked Georges Rouault to create illustrations for a "reincarnation" of Père Ubu, while at the same time Rachilde collected her memories of her husband, Jarry, in 1928, and Doctor Saltas was busy reprinting Jarry's play.
