Description
SÈVRES & Henri PATOU (active 1922–1942), designer of decorative motifs. Vase in the ‘Aubert No. 4’ form, made of new hard porcelain, with a globular body resting on a short, straight foot and a straight neck with a rimmed lip, decorated in polychrome blue and brown with a peacock figure against a background of flowers and leaves in the Art Deco style. Good condition. Sèvres National Manufactory, 1923. Manufacturer’s and decoration marks dated ‘1923’ in black stamp on the reverse; signed in blue on the reverse ‘HL. d’après Mr. H. Patou’ for the decorator Henri-Joseph Lasserre (active 1883–1930). H. 22.5 cm.
