This painting will be listed and reproduced in the second supplement to the catalogue raisonné currently being prepared by Bernheim-Jeune. PROVENANCE: Collection of Mademoiselle Amélie Dieterle (1871–1941); Christie’s London sale, 10 February 1990, lot 22; Cornette de Saint-Cyr sale, 30 March 2015, Paris, lot 24; Private collection, Paris; Louiza Auktion sale, Brussels, 29 March 2025, lot 84. Amélie Dieterle (1871–1941), a French actress of the Belle Époque and the Roaring Twenties. Her talent and beauty made her one of the queens of Paris. Amélie Dieterle was the muse of the poet Mallarmé and the painters Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Alfred Roll and Renoir, who painted several portraits of her.
