Signed and dated lower left. 31 x 23 cm (in its original frame) No. P1968-11 from the Jules Breton Family Archives. Provenance: – Artist’s studio – ‘Atelier de l’Artiste’ sale, Galerie Georges Petit, Paris, 2 and 3 June 1911 (lot 168, p. 65 of the catalogue) sold for 1,500 francs to Charles Maniez – Sale of the Charles Maniez Collection, Galerie Georges Petit, Paris, 3 December 1918 (lot 5 in the catalogue) Bibliography: - Delouche Catalogue Raisonné, 1978 (reproduced in Volume II under no. 809, p. 736) Note: Rediscovery of this painting, which had been missing since its last auction in 1918.
