Henri DABADIE (1867–1949) Pond in the Imperial City of Hué – 1929. Oil on canvas. Signed, dated and located in the lower left-hand corner. 50 x 65 cm. Note: Thanks to the Society of French Orientalist Painters, Henri Dabadie was able to spend a year at the Villa Abd-el-Tif in Algeria and visit Tunisia. In 1928, he was made a Knight of the Legion of Honour. That same year, he won the Prix de l’Indochine and settled in Hanoi, where he taught at the Hanoi School of Fine Arts, directed by Victor Tardieu
