He was one of those who painted in a highly figurative style, but very quickly moved on to the style typical of Papunya, featuring geometric motifs and traditional colours. The dingo is an iconic animal of the Australian ‘outback’. It was often domesticated by the Australian Aboriginal people, though it also lives in the wild in the bush. It holds an important place in Australian Aboriginal culture and is an integral part of the creation of sites during the Dreamtime. There are a great many sacred sites associated with the dingo throughout Australia, particularly in the north and centre.
