A rare rectangular beauty case with an oval cross-section, crafted from rose vermeil (900‰) , re-pierced and chased, featuring a ‘birds of paradise and flowers’ motif on a mirror-polished background, accented with red stones in closed-set settings, hinged to open onto fluted silver compartments for powder, lipstick and a comb (missing).
