Adrien Etienne GAUDEZ (1845–1902) Flora Bronze cast with a brown patina, signed ‘A. GAUDEZ’ on the back of the trunk. H: 82 cm A native of Lyon, Adrien Etienne Gaudez studied at the École des Beaux- Arts in Paris under the tutelage of François Jouffroy. He exhibited regularly at the Salon from 1864 onwards and at the World’s Fairs of 1889 and 1900. He fulfilled numerous public commissions, particularly for the City of Paris, and decorated the Petit Palais and the gardens of Parc Monceau.
