Dado (1933–2010) Untitled, 1958 Coloured pencils and oil pastels on paper Signed, dated and located in the bottom left-hand corner 45 x 64 cm Provenance: Paul and Jacqueline Canfrère Collection Note: This drawing was produced shortly after Dado’s arrival in France in August 1956. His characteristic style is already evident, with this blending of forms and the chubby-cheeked face (one is also reminded of the ‘babies’ series, which formed the subject of his first exhibition at the Galerie Daniel Cordier in the autumn of 1958).
