Note: In 1976, Dado collaborated with Perec on the publication of *Alphabets*, a collection of 176 poems in eleven lines by Georges Perec, published by Éditions Galilée (Michel Delorme), which he illustrated with 21 drawings in Indian ink and a black engraving.
Dado reproduced these drawings in colour for a second edition, published in 1985, such as the piece presented here, which is an original drawing executed by Dado for page 148 of the second edition of *Alphabets* (a watercolour version of the drawing for page 75 of the first edition
Furthermore, Dado discusses his collaboration with Perec in *Portraits en fragments*, an interview conducted by Christian Derouet, 1981–1988 (Strasbourg, Editions L’Atelier contemporain, 2023, p. 112
