Description
Loetz Witwe (in the style of)
A pair of vases in a very elongated baluster shape, with a ribbed body formed of vertical panels meeting at a multi-lobed base with gadroons, and a tapered neck flaring into a similarly ribbed corolla. Iridescent blown glass with coppery and golden metallic sheen, predominantly bronze-orange in colour, shifting with the light.
The iridescent effect is achieved by spraying metallic salts onto the hot glass.
Circa 1900–1905.
H_ 40 cm.
