René LALIQUE (1860–1945). Round box made of pressed-moulded amber-coloured glass. Decoration in high relief featuring scarabs arranged in a circle, alternating with stylised fern scrolls radiating out from the centre. ‘Cleones’ model, also known as the ‘beetle’ model. Signed ‘R. Lalique’ on the lid. Model created in 1921, discontinued on 28 April 1939.
