Description
Set of two deep dishes Made of glazed terracotta. The first dish, which is circular, features an incised design on a blue background, possibly depicting a sea bream, and the rim is highlighted by a frieze of alternating green and white striations. Bears a handwritten incised signature ‘La Bisbal’, Catalonia. The second dish, also circular, is decorated with what appears to be Saint Peter on a yellow background, and its rim is highlighted by a frieze of golden zigzags. The handwritten incised signature is identical to that on the other dish. A hanging mechanism on the reverse of each dish. Spain, second half of the 20th century D. 31 cm and 28 cm A damaged hanging mechanism Also included: - a bowl, in glazed terracotta, with an engraved and painted fish motif. The rim is accented by a frieze of cross-hatching. Two hanging holes on the reverse. A hand-incised signature on the reverse.
