Day dress, by Mme Gruyer, 53 Rue de la Pallud, c. 1880, a beautiful ensemble in wine-coloured Pekin silk with iridescent stripes and satin in the same shade. Fitted bodice at the waist with pleated basques and three-quarter-length sleeves, fastened with ten buttons embroidered in the same fabric. Skirt with a draped apron, gathered at the centre, trimmed with bows and fringed tassels. Back with a train effect, buttoned at the sides (minor alterations).
