Description
Emile Rocher (1928–2014), Saint-Renan (Finistère) Tableware set (reassembled) In polychrome earthenware. Comprising a large oval dish and eight flat plates. The deep dish is decorated with colourful scorpionfish against a lively seascape on a green background. The rim is outlined with a dark green border. The eight circular plates are decorated with various fish, such as a turbot, a scorpionfish, a sea bream, a lobster and a seahorse (all different), against a red background. The rims are outlined in brown and oxblood. Hand-painted signatures are visible on the reverse of all pieces. The dish is dated ‘69’ and the plates are dated ‘58’. Length of the platter: 58 cm – Diameter of a plate: 24.5 cm The platter has been restored
