Description
Le Brescon (20th century) Set of two decorative plates and a cake dish Made of polychrome terracotta. The first, a flat plate, is decorated with a Provençal woman selling fish. The second, with a flat rim, is also adorned with a Provençal woman holding a basket of vegetables. The rectangular cake dish is decorated with a fishmonger. All three bear the hand-incised inscription ‘Le Brescon’. One plate also bears the hand-incised inscription ‘OMS Martigues’ on the reverse. One plate has two hanging holes on the reverse.
