In the 1960s, having taken over the family charcuterie business in Brittany, Michel Caugant came up with the idea of marketing his pâtés in hand-painted earthenware terrines shaped like animals. Enhancing the product with a high-quality container was his strategy for standing out from the competition: the duck, the hare, the roe deer, the goose, the rabbit, the ostrich, the sole, the cockerel, the partridge… A cheerful menagerie was born!
