Description
Saint-Jean du Désert Bouillabaisse dinner service Made of polychrome earthenware with a yellow background. Comprising twelve dinner plates, twelve soup plates, a soup tureen complete with its drainer and serving dish (which can also be used as a serving platter), an oil and vinegar set with a single cruet, and a mortar without a pestle. All are decorated with various fish, used in the preparation of bouillabaisse, against a background of seaweed; these painted designs are signed ‘H. Panerdi’. The lid of the soup tureen features a three-dimensional lobster-shaped handle. The pottery’s stamp appears on all pieces.
