Description
Asparagus-themed tableware set -Set of two asparagus plates Made of ‘Terre de Fer’ earthenware. Square in shape with scalloped rims, they are decorated with moulded asparagus and decal designs enhanced with naturalistic floral motifs. The border is highlighted with a red ribbed line. The reverse bears the manufacturer’s stamp: ‘Longchamp Terre de fer’. Late 19th century Chips and flaking. -A second set of two plates In polychrome slipware. Rectangular in shape with rounded edges, they feature a moulded decoration of asparagus and artichokes, framed by artichoke leaves. A circular sauce boat is positioned in one corner. Each has a mark on the reverse, though it is illegible. Possibly Lunéville Early 20th century L. 24.3 cm -Finally, two asparagus plates are included In polychrome Terre de Fer. Circular in shape, they are adorned with moulded asparagus stalks in the centre, forming a small cradle. They are also decorated with small naturalistic flowers, in raised decals, and borders outlined with a brown line.
