EARLY 19TH CENTURY
A procession figure known as a ‘Capipote’, carved from polychrome wood and dressed in a striking contemporary ensemble comprising a skirt and a bodice made of sewn tissue paper, embellished with paper lace and small mother-of-pearl buttons, complemented by a necklace and a crown of fabric roses.
Bell-shaped structure supported by a wooden plinth, covered in polychrome cardboard, with articulated shoulders and arms, resting on a moulded square plinth of polychrome wood.
