Description
Mourning necklace
Made from black glass and metal (blackened and gold-coloured). Rice-shaped beads with a square cross-section. At the end of a blackened metal lobster clasp hangs an oval-shaped, hinged pendant made of gilded metal and glass, centred with a half-pearl.
Late 19th century
Length of the necklace (doubled) 102.5 cm – Total length 106.5 cm
One scratch and two small chips in the pendant. Signs of wear and some verdigris on the metal.
A second long necklace is included
Made of gold-plated metal. With diamond-shaped links, each centred on a figure of eight, and complemented by a ladies’ neckwatch, marked ‘Strato’. Bears the hallmark ‘CUIVRE’.
The long necklace dates from the early 20th century and the watch from around 1970.
