In 1805, Henri-Louis Pernod founded the Maison Pernod Fils in Pontarlier, in the Doubs region of France.
In 1860, Jules-François Pernod founded Société Pernod Père et Fils in Avignon, then in 1918, Jules-Félix Pernod, his son, registered the Anis Pernod brand.
In 1938, the Pernod 45 brand was created, followed by the Pastis 51 brand in 1951.
