Description
GURTNER candles - Embossed lithographed sheet metal circa 1930. Very good condition, some traces of original protective paper. 64.7 x 46.5 cm "imprimeto : R.Bindschedler - Paris". In 1907, Jules GURTNER (a Swiss-born mechanic) set up a screw-cutting workshop in Pontarlier in the Doubs region of France. He extended his activities to the burgeoning car and motorbike industry, manufacturing "spare parts for cycles and cars, valves, pump specialities for cycles and cars, pressure controllers".
