The history of the Valda brand began in 1905 in Paris, when Henri-Edmond Canonne, an apothecary from Lille with a passion for microbiology, decided to create a small ball of soft paste rich in gum arabic: this was the birth of Valda pastilles.
The five antiseptic constituents of Valda pastilles are peppermint, eucalyptus, thyme, guaiac wood and Landes pine.
The origin of the "valda" brand is a contraction of two Latin words, valetudo ("health") and dare (the verb "to give") (sources: pharma360.fr and Wikipedia).
