Originally founded in rue Hollandre-Piquemal in Metz in 1868 by Gustave Amos, the Amos brewery moved to Le Sablon in 1874.
It was the last independent brewery in Lorraine before being taken over by the German group Karlsbräu and closed in 1992.
Amos beer, still served in Metz and throughout Moselle, is brewed in Saverne by the "Licorne" brewery, also owned by Karlsbräu (Source: passionbrasserie.com and Wikipedia).
