BIÈRE DE SOCHAUX - "good beer
A rare flat enamelled plaque with rims, 150 of which were produced between 1955 and 1960 (source: "Histoires de plaques" by Pierre Meyer).
Good condition, good brightness, good colours apart from the porous/matt white parts with a few stains, a few chips around the edges and at the top.
Approximately 148 x 96 cm.
Enamelling: "émaillerie Alsacienne de Strasbourg Hoenheim".
The winking Alsatian woman was designed by André Stouls in 1927 (source: brasserielutterbach.fr).
The Lutterbach brewery (Mulhouse-Haut Rhin) was founded by the monks of Lucelle in 1648 and sold to the Struch family, who ran it until 1860. In 1870 Théodore BOCH became manager of the brewery. 1968 closure of the brewery.
