Very rare original lithographed advertising card. 40 x 30 cm. "Imp.Camis & cie-Paris".
Signed "D'après Guillaume".
Fine condition - fresh colours, lithograph of great finesse, offering a beautiful presentation. There are some very discreet alterations in the margins, particularly in the lower part, as well as some light marks in the image.
The whole is in very good condition. A rare item.
Manufactured by the Providence soap factory, founded in 1855 by Pierre-Arnoux, L.Comte, E.Baudin & cie, successors.
Also produced N.D de l'Assomption soap and Providence soap.
Depicts a juggler/saltimbanque, a typical representation of the iconographic codes of late 19th century advertising, inherited from colonial imagery, including stereotypes that are now outdated.
